Roosevelt University’s Writing Center offers a collaborative
online tutoring process that reflects the face-to-face sessions hosted at the
physical Writing Center space in AUD 442.
We
offer an online chat space through Blackboard where student writers can meet
with student tutors to discuss their writing assignments. The online chat space allows for the tutor
and the writer to converse about the paper in real-time, just as if they were
meeting in the Writing Center itself.
This process is convenient for both the tutor and the student because
each can work from any computer, and the process also encourages the dialogue
that we, at the Writing Center, believe produces better writing.
All online tutoring appointments take at least 2-3 days to arrange, depending on tutor availability. All requests for online sessions will be forwarded to our Online Tutoring Coordinator and scheduled once an available tutor is found.
